Bio

With over 25 years of experience, Dr Meri has had the privilege of leading global digital transformation journeys for some of the world's leading organizations, including Amex, Bertelsmann, Samsung, Docomo, Visa, and Standard Chartered.

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, she lived and worked globally and gained diverse leadership experience across cultures. She has lived in New York, London, Barcelona, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore.

 

Meri earned an MBA from the London Business School and a PhD Summa cum Laude in Tech Strategy from the University of Barcelona, as well as a Doctor Europeus Honorific Mention.

 

She serves as an Adjunct Professor of Data Strategy and Sustainability at Globis University, a renowned MBA program in Japan, where she enjoys sharing and learning from others.

In addition to her corporate experience, she has founded startups and developed and launched products, some of which were successful, while others provided valuable learning experiences. Her entrepreneurial mindset has enabled her to balance corporate life with a passion for innovation and risk-taking.

 

As a responsible corporate citizen, she has served on various advisory boards, including the Data Literacy Project, the UN Development Program Fintech, as an Ambassador for the UN Women STEM program, and board member of the United Nations Association of Singapore. Together with fellow entrepreneurs, she co-founded the Female Founders think-tank and the Women Data Leaders network. She is currently serving as a committee member of SG Women in Tech, and the Singapore Computer Society.

Throughout her career, she has received industry recognition, including being named one of 30 People Who Are Changing The World by London Business Review, as well as receiving Asia's 100 Most Powerful Woman Leader, Top 100 world CDO, 100 Women in Tech SG, Most Promising Female Developer, Top Voice, and Moebius Digital Award.

Meri is passionate about tech changing the world, and the potential of the blue economy to help end the climate crisis, and she advocates for ocean conservation in her spare time as an avid sailor.
